npk mineral nutrient requirement of pinus merkusii at nursery age (1973-1976)

Truong Thi Thao

INTRODUCTION

Serious failures commonly found in sowing Pinus merkusii in the last few years have resulted in a need for research on NPK mineral nutrient requirement of the species at different stages in the first year , which can serve as a basis for finding the most reasonable fertilizing techniques.

RESULTS

Based on analysis of NPK components in leaf and ecological features of Pinus merkusii planted with different NPK treatments at different stages in different media (clean sand and different natural soils) at Nam Son and Hanoi in 1973 – 1976, preliminary remarks can be made as follows,

1. P.merkusii in the first sowing year has different requirements for NPK at different stages.

. N is needed from month 5 to month 8 for rapid growth of newly formed needles. This stage is the time for formation and development of mycorrhiza and rapid increase of biomass.
