The Workshop will be jointly organized by the Vietnamese Academy of Forest Sciences (VAFS) and the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) with funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
The Workshop will be organized on 24-25 November 2014 at Hanoi, Vietnam aimed at the following objectives:
- Presentation of key approaches and lessons learnt for design and implementation of payment for environmental services in different country studied as well as regional comparative analysis for those approaches.
- Exchange of experience on the application of PES schemes, their pros and cons for each approach.
- Foster collaboration and partnership amongst stakeholders in the region.
The workshop is expected to have 50 participants including scientists and administrators from CIFOR, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam.
