The abundant resources of Vietnam plays an important role in the development of an economic society. To solve in our country which are similar to those experience in many other countries we have studied a number of species selection functions relating to high export concentration for planting materials and energy production quality, cycle exploit and long term stability which is typical of China, Taiwan, and Thailand. Solving the same need for afforestation work has focused on high-energy production and stabilized the research methods of breeding cloning.

Materials: Two native bamboo species of May lay, May boi.

Methodology: Rapid Rural Appraisal (RRA), and Participatory Rural Appraisal  (PRA) were used. Methods of ecological experiments to study and evaluate the ability of the roots of two native bamboo species to produce shoots.

Identify and introuduce two native bamboo species having high economic value to production.
Methods of consultants to determine the species of bamboo research. We identified two species having the highest number of points which are: Cloud by, and May lay. Through expert advice to the two species in the study for the Northwest.
* The scientific name of May boi is Bambusa burmanica Gamble .
* The scientific name of May lay is Gigantocholoa albociliata (Munro) Kurz. Genus Le.

Survey of market demand, pricing for some  native bamboo species in Son La.
Conduct surveys of market demand in the five points. General results:
Origin: extracted from natural forests, only a few are exploited from planted forests along farms.
Average price is the 2,000 – 10,000 VND / kg of fresh bamboo shoots.
Growing experience of local people: A few people are aware of the most delicious bamboo shoots to serve the needs of families, such as May boi by which have 1-10 root / trees.
After two years the bamboo can be harvested, but from 4-5 years income yield from the harvest is higher.
Need assistance: technical guide planting, tending and harvesting

Survey evaluating the growth and causing all kinds of bamboo growing native in Son La.
       – Distribution: The situation caused growing:
+ May boi by planted by the local people is mainly a self-cultivated, wild and rare plant prefering good ground, which is wet. It has an average diameter of 5-7 cm, height has an average of 7-12 m . Often planted in relatively flat land, next to the fence around the coast for convenience for the exploitation and use of cement.

Research on propagation

+ Propagating
Experiments have been conducted to determine the age of breeding material at a second time: On an old stand and a stand under 1 year of age.
Comments: The place to take breeding materials is very important for the ability to produce roots. Also age of breeding material drops below a rate higher than the root stems hom aged greater than 1 year of age. Type the drug concentrations also affected the ability to root.
Results from the experiment show that: The IBA concentrations 1%, branches under 1 year old have  the highest rate of rooting: 91% with tree and cloud by 45% for the rattan lay . NAA concentration 0.5% gives the lowest roots: 69% for May Boi and 19% for May Lay.
For branches older than 1 year old, the rooting rate increases accordingly with the age of branches, and with IBA concentration of 1.5% , the rooting rate is 71% with May Boi and 35% with May lay.

The best season for rooting is from April to June annually.

Consumption and large market because most people are used to plant food for catering needs. No I know farmers to apply advanced techniques in planting and harvesting asparagus they only use the experience of indigenous communications through export.
Both are two species of bamboo growth medium, but due to abusive exploitation of the plant to leave the mother should not have done the same growth rate is not rapid formation of dust.
– The ability to propagate.
May boi concentrations of 1% IBA results of 91% rooting.
May lay using 1% IBA results of 45% rooting
  – Suitable propagating season is from April to June.
