The plantations were established in 1997, 1998 and 2001 in Silvicutural Experiment Research Center, Doan Hung district, Phu Tho province. Acacia mangium was planted as a nurse tree for young native tree species such as Cinamomum iners, Canarium album, Lithocarpus fissus, Endospermum chinense, and Peltophorum tonkinensis. In this experiment, 3 years old, 6 years old, and 7 years old mixed plantations were selected for the experiment.Thinning density for 3 years old plantation are 0, 25, 50, and 75 %, and those for 6 and 7 years old plantations are 0, 50, 75, and 100 %.
