Artificial hybridisation (called also control pollination) such as reciprocal crossing and back crossing has been practiced in Vietnam since 1997 and some hybrid combinations are used as material sources for this study. Research on morphological characteristics of the hybrid (and clones) reveals the intermediate nature between <em>A. auriculiformis<\/em> and <em>A. mangium<\/em> in width\/length index in reciprocal combinations is affected by cytoplasmic genetic property. In general, natural and artificial hybrids both have faster growth than their parental species and their provenances. Specially there are 4 artificial hybrid combination that show obvious heterosis though superior growth than natural hybrid clones BV16 and BV33.
