Four thousand one hundred and thirty three hectares of pine forest has been damaged by pine caterpillar in Nghe An in 2003.<span>&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">P<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">ine caterpillar operates at night<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> and is highly attracted to<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">light, therefore <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">us<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">ing<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> light traps for forecast to epidemi<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">ca and<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> to kill the butterflies<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> of<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> pine caterpillar is effective without causing environmental pollution.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">Most of the butterfly light trap<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">s in Vietnam<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">are<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> imported, and<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> have<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> technical features which are<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">not consistent with the<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">conditions of use in Vietnam (low mobility, high cost etc). Therefore, research is <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">necessary<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">.<strong> <\/strong><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">Survey<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">ing<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> and collecting the <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">light-trap samples<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> (both ones made in Viet Nam and imported ones), define specifications and the advantages and disadvantages to inherit and improve. Design<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> and<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> manufactu<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">re<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> the light<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">-trap models<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> us<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">ing<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\"> battery and grid electricity. Using butterfly light traps in the prediction and prevention of pests in general and the pine caterpillar <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">in particular is a simple and effective <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">measure.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">&#8211;
