Among fifteen RAPD primers, there were 9 primers that revealed polymorphism with PIC value (Polymorphism Information Content) varying from 0.08 (RA40) to 0.31 (RA46), no primer had PIC value &ge; 0.5. A total of 56 DNA fragments were generated but only 22 DNA fragments showed polymorphism (approximately 39.2%). <\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">Genetic similarity coefficients between samples ranged from 0.686 (QB3 and HT2; QB1 and LD6) to 1.0 (QB5 and QB6) and was used for constructing a phenetic dendrogram using UPGMA analysis. The pattern of grouping in the dendrogram divided 20 <em>Calocedrus macrolepis <\/em>samples into 3 main groups. <\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">The first group includes 7 samples that were collected in Ha Tay, the second group is formed from 7 samples from Lam Dong and the third group involves 6 samples of Quang Binh province. Six primers of cpDNA were used to assess genetic diversity of 20 <em>Calocedrus macrolepis <\/em><span>&nbsp;<\/span>samples there were four primer pairs that generated DNA fragments from 0.5 kb to 1.0 kb.
