There is great market demand for its timber in Vietnam. Currently, the Research Centre for Forest Tree Improvement is implementing the research project in genetic improvement of this species aiming at providing high value timber. As a component of the project, the objective of this study was to identify the appropriate vegetative propagation method to release the best genetically improved stock to production. Some of the results of this study can be highlighted:<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">&nbsp;<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Symbol;font-size: 10pt\"><span>&middot;<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">Mini-grafting<\/span><\/em>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<em><\/em><span><span>&#8211;<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;color: black;font-size: 10pt\">Survival percentage of graft using scion taken from cuttings was 95.0%, significantly better than those using scion taken from tissue cultured plantlets. <\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<span><span>&#8211;<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;color: black;font-size: 10pt\">The most suitable age of stock was 30-40 days which resulted in a survival percentage of grafts of 80%. The length of the stocks of 10 cm at 30 days old resulted in highest survival percentage of 95.5%.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<span><span>&#8211;<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;color: black;font-size: 10pt\">The most suitable age of scion was 3 weeks which resulted in survival percentage of graft of 77.3%. The length of scions of 10 cm resulted in highest survival percentage of 96.6%.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;color: black;font-size: 10pt\">&nbsp;<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<span style=\"font-family: Symbol;color: black;font-size: 10pt\"><span>&middot;<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;color: black;font-size: 10pt\">Cutting<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<span><span>&#8211;<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">The most suitable age of the shoots was 30 days old.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<span><span>&#8211;<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 10pt\">IBA is the most suitable growth regulator for rooting of the cutting.
